Do you work with students labeled as “difficult”, “challenging”, or “unmotivated”? Whether a result of trauma, depression, anxiety, or other issues, those labeled the most challenging are full of promise, inner strength, and resilience. Each day we are presented with various student behaviors that can be difficult to understand and accept.

In this 2-day hybrid workshop, we will become behavioral detectives and look for the real messages and hidden needs beneath human behaviors. We will also explore current research in helping students manage and overcome these patterns.

Day 1 will include instruction in understanding the needs beneath the behaviors and how to plan for interventions that will fit your classroom and teaching style as well as help your individual students. In-person attendance is required.

Day 2 will be completed in an online format. The first 3 hours will be whole class instruction and discussion. The afternoon (3 hours) will be spent working on meaningful systems and planning for your specific classes. The Instructors will be online to work 1:1 or in small groups to provide guidance and consultation. In essence, you will have your very own BCBA and SAC to help you!

Please note: Lunch will be provided. Please indicate any dietary restrictions when registering.
