Joyce retired from the Gateway Regional School District after 30+ years of experience as a School Adjustment Counselor in 2022. During her tenure at GRSD, Joyce provided direct service to students and families, consultation to teachers, and frequently provided professional development to staff. In addition, she was the Safe Schools Planning Coordinator for 22 years responsible for plan development, training and designing drills for the school community.
In addition, for the past 12 years, Joyce has served as an Adjunct Professor at Westfield State University teaching Advanced Counseling and Dynamics of Group Counseling in the Psychology Department – Graduate Level.
For the past fifteen years, Joyce has been providing seminars for the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, Northwest District Attorney’s Office and the National Education Association in the areas of trauma, behavioral management, social emotional learning and Safe Schools Planning.
