Strong Foundations for Young Children

Strong Foundations for Young Children serves children and families in Hampshire County, and we need your help!

You can help families like Charlie, Adrian and his sister.

“We were going through a really rough time. I’m a single Dad, raising Adrian and his sister.” Then three-year old Adrian began acting out. Other kids and parents were nervous around him. Nobody would play with him. “It broke my heart - and I didn’t know what to do about it. I knew Adrian wouldn’t be able to cope with a school when the time came,” Charlie said. “I wanted to be the best parent I could be, but I needed help.”

“Strong Foundations came to my home to help. They worked with us, showing me how to help Adrian with his social skills. We put together a plan, and they connected me up with other kinds of help. Adrian is in preschool now, and the teacher says he’s doing really well. It makes me feel good that we are talking and reading together, and playing. I feel like I can do this now.”

We know families like Charlie and Adrian throughout Hampshire County. They need help and answers, to get started in the right direction.

Please help to support families like Charlie and Adrian.

Strong Foundations for Young Children provides free support for families of infants, toddlers and preschoolers who reside in Hampshire County, MA. Our goal is to provide support to parents to enhance their children’s social and emotional development. The help that we provide is tailored to the individual needs of each child and family. Typically, we will visit the family in their home setting, and help set goals, coach and model useful strategies with parents and caregivers, and connect families up with resources they need in the community.

Strong Foundations is supported with funding by private donors and local fundraising activities. We are grateful for a matching challenge grant from Susan Clopton and John Levine. Our thanks also go to Florence Savings Bank, People's Bank, the Joel Atlas Skirble Foundation, and to Broadside Bookstore for choosing Strong Foundations as a non-profit of the month! We know there are more families needing help across Hampshire County. Please help us to help them.
