Writing with Storytelling in Mind: How to Improve Descriptive Writing in Students

Summer Academy
PDPs:

Offered by:
Professional Development

Description

Telling a story brings together voice, movement, characterization (personality traits and emotions), setting, action and the rise and fall of tension. This makes it a wonderful medium to help kids become better writers! By fully embodying the story, students can translate that experience onto the paper. Come learn to tell a story that you can take back to your classroom; then see first hand how the TELLING can help us become better WRITERS. Most relevant for Grades 4-12 but could also be introduced in Grades 2-3.

Audience and Grade Level

4-12 educators.
