The Workshop Model

Professional Development

This two-day workshop is designed to explore the components of a Reading and Writing Workshop Model, and how to implement it in the classroom. Learn how to plan and teach small groups that will keep students engaged with strategies and skills that they can immediately use at their own reading or writing level. We’ll explore using Balanced Literacy to meet individual student needs, and connecting reading and writing goals and strategies to real life.

  • Use anchor charts, sticky notes, book bags, and other tools to assist students
  • Implement new strategies
  • Conference individually with students to determine their needs
