Addressing the Needs of Struggling Writers

Summer Academy

Writing is one of the most difficult things we have to teach. This workshop will help teachers take on the common concerns, struggles and roadblocks we all face in writing instruction, particularly of struggling writers. By expecting and looking for challenges, we will be better prepared to intervene.

Participants will discover tried and true strategies to address and overcome issues such as lack of independence, repetitive and boring writing, lack of focus and clarity and motivating students who have trouble writing anything at all.

Audience and Grade Level

Teachers, Paraprofessionals and Special Educators; Grades 3 - 5.

18 PDPs will be awarded to participants upon completion of these three days of training. Note that these 18 PDPs will satisfy the SPED-related requirement for recertification.

Future training dates will be announced here. If you have questions or are interested in offering this training on-site, please contact us.
