While it is a very important factor of sustained academic success, it can easily be misused and misunderstood. This 2-session training will examine: the neurophysiological foundation of growth mindset; the full definition of growth mindset; research on the efficacy of growth mindset; the importance of belief n growth mindset; the dos-and-don'ts of establishing growth mindset; the use of questions in fostering a growth mindset.

Memory Systems and the Brain

This 3-session workshop explores how the effectiveness of our teaching can be maximized by understanding how the brain’s memory systems work in learning. With this basis, our instructional decisions become more directly connected to what furthers student learning, and we can troubleshoot individual student's challenges more astutely. We become "learning specialists." English learners, students with special needs, as well as generally struggling students particularly benefit from teachers who have "learning specialist" perspective.
