William (Bill) Diehl, Ed.D. is the Executive Director of CES. He has 40 years’ experience in education as a middle and high school teacher, primarily for vulnerable youth, an administrator, university teacher-trainer, professional development provider, and program manager for three non-profits. Prior to joining CES, Bill was the founding Executive Director for Diploma Plus Inc. (DP), a national network of 33 small public high schools for over-aged and under-credited urban youth.

Over the course of his career, he has taught, managed innovative programs, written numerous successful grants, conducted workshops and presentations at the state and national level and authored articles, manuals and reports. Diehl has a BA in Secondary English Education from Antioch College and a doctorate in Adolescent Literacy from Indiana University. He brings a unique combination of experience, knowledge, and skills to his work at CES; more importantly, he brings a passionate and tireless commitment to collaboration in service of achieving high quality and equitable education opportunities, access and outcomes for all children, youth, and families.
