Welcome Baby

The first days and weeks at home with a new baby are among the most joyful and exciting you’ll experience as a parent. They can also be overwhelming.

Welcome Baby is a free home visitation program.

This program is for all new babies and their families in the following communities: Amherst, Belchertown, Chesterfield, Easthampton, Goshen, Granby, Hatfield, Monson, Palmer, Pelham, South Hadley, Southampton, Ware, Warren, West Brookfield, Westhampton, Williamsburg.

Home visits are a convenient and comforting way for parents to connect with an early childhood expert, ask questions, and get access to valuable information and community resources.

Shortly after your baby is born, you can schedule a one-hour visit from a member of the CES Early Childhood Support Team. Our visiting team member will deliver a Welcome Baby bag that includes:

  • Gifts for you and your baby
  • Informational materials about baby growth and development and issues new parents face
  • Community resources such as family centers, WIC, breastfeeding support, and services provided by CES

Our team members can help to answer your questions about how your baby is growing and adjusting, what to expect in the coming weeks and months, and address concerns you might have about your baby’s health and well-being as well as your own.

Welcome Baby Visits are made possible by funding from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care.
