This training will provide strategies for early childhood professionals to talk with caregivers about communication delays and different learning profiles.
In order to partner successfully with families, professionals need support and practice with how and when to have honest, empathetic, and informed conversations about communication delays and early signs of autism and other learning differences. Participants will learn how to partner with caregivers by teaching them about early communication development and delays and how and why to look for early signs of autism. When professionals use neurodiversity-affirming language and practices they pass these skills and this language to the families they work with.
The presentation will highlight ways to build trust, honor each child’s unique communication style, and collaborate with families to promote inclusive, strengths-based early learning environments.
This PD offers 2.5 training hours.
