Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of the educational landscape — but what does responsible, practical use look like in special education?
This two-day, in-person institute is designed specifically for special educators and special education leaders who want to explore how AI can thoughtfully support their work while maintaining compliance, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Participants will build a clear understanding of responsible AI use and practice applying AI tools to real leadership tasks, including preparing for and facilitating collaborative and compliant IEP meetings.
Through guided exploration, discussion with colleagues, and hands-on practice, participants will learn how AI can help streamline preparation, strengthen communication, support high-quality IEP development, and enhance team collaboration. The course will also address common concerns, including confidentiality, bias, overreliance on technology, and maintaining the human-centered nature of special education.
Participants will leave with practical tools, sample prompts, and clear guidelines they can immediately apply in their daily work and share with their teams. All learning and practice will take place during the two-day session; no homework is required.
Participants who attend both days in full will receive 10 PDPs.
