On March 6th, a group of local and regional health educators attended a 3-hour professional development training on “Skills-Based Health Education.” The training was led by Mary Connolly, Program Chair of the Skills-Based Health/Social Emotional program at Cambridge College. You can view some of the resources from this training here.

SPIFFY organized this training because we have consistently heard from health educators that they wish to have more access to professional development that is specifically intended for health teachers. Within the past year, SPIFFY also created a listserv for local health teachers to share resources and questions, organized a Health Education Retreat, and organized a networking session for health educators to share lesson plans. If you know someone who teaches health in Hampshire County who would like to be added to the Hampshire County Health Educator listserv, please email Lexi at apolokoff@collaborative.org.
