On June 3, 2025, SPIFFY Coalition Coordinator, Lexi Polokoff, and Project Director for the STOP Act Grant on Underage Drinking Prevention for Healthy Quaboag and the Quaboag Hills Substance Use Alliance, Sawyer Blake, presented on local alcohol policy best practices to Ware’s Select Board.
This 20-minute presentation is part of a roadshow initiative to inform different municipal policymakers about ways that can locally shape alcohol policies to better center public health and youth prevention. Audience members of the meeting were engaged and asked many questions, while also sharing their own experiences related to alcohol policy. The Select Board was engaged and interested in setting up a follow-up meeting for the fall of 2025.
The presentation slides are publicly available here. The presentation slides are accompanied by “The Alcohol Policy Toolkit: Local Solutions for Health and Safety.” Both of these resources have been co-created by members of the SPIFFY Coalition’s Regional Policy and Norms Workgroup.
