This professional learning community (PLC) is for classroom educators in a school setting in Massachusetts. This PLC will be a place for educators interested in AI in the Classroom to share in problems of practices, develop ideas, and learn together about developments in the field. We’ll be gathering in our virtual meetings as partners and be in communication throughout.
These sessions provide a professional learning space where classroom educators with any level of AI experience or acceptance can explore artificial intelligence as a topic, and develop their own practices around the use of generative AI in classrooms with students. Educators can find their own access point, with the opportunity to:
- Deepen their understanding of how AI tools work through exploration and collaboration
- Consider how they can be leveraged for various aspects of teaching
- Design student learning experiences and assessments that are enhanced by AI (rather than subverted)
- Thoughtfully explore selected AI tools and align them to promising instructional practices
The PLC is participant-driven and topics will be decided by the group with facilitation by Casey Daigle, Suzanne Judson-Whitehouse, Rebecca Mazur, and Sahara Pradhan. We’ll meet for 8 sessions, online, once a month between October 2024 – May 2025. If you attend at least 6 sessions, participate actively, complete a final presentation or reflection, and register for the PDP option, you can receive 15 PDPs in content, so please come prepared to share (confidentially of course) any current situations, questions you have, and your expertise.
Please note: If you would like PDPs, you will need to choose the $100 registration option. This fee covers the cost of administering PDPs. While participants can join at any time, PDPs are only provided to those who attend at least 6 sessions.
