NORTHAMPTON, MA – The Strategic Planning Initiative for Families and Youth (SPIFFY) Coalition will its annual coalition meeting in conjunction with a Town Hall Meeting on Underage Drinking on Friday May 29th, 2015, from 11am – 1pm, on underage drinking. The meeting will be held at the Collaborative for Educational Services at 97 Hawley Street in Northampton, and is free of charge.  Space is limited and registration required online at www.collaborative.org/events-and-courses/spiffy-coalitiontown-hall-meeting-prevent-underage-drinking.

SPIFFY partners and supporters from Hampshire County, including schools, municipal leaders, community-based organizations, and law enforcement are invited to attend for networking, lunch and an update on the activities of the SPIFFY coalition.

The highlight will be a panel presentation on Exploring the Intersection of Sexual Assault/Dating Violence and Alcohol Abuse Among High School and College Age Youth.

Panelists Include: Becky Lockwood, Associate Director, Center for Women and Community at U-Mass Amherst; Sonya Satinski, Director, Center for Health Promotion, U-Mass Amherst; Monica Moran, Senior Planner Specialist-Social Services, Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.

The Strategic Planning Initiative for Families and Youth (SPIFFY) is a coalition whose mission is to foster collaboration between schools and communities, promote strong families, support positive youth development, and create a local culture where youth are supported to make healthy choices.  SPIFFY is administered by the Collaborative for Educational Services.
