Jerry Lassos

Jerry Lassos is Tongva, the indigenous tribe of Los Angeles. He is an Air Force veteran and founder of Lassos Educational Equity Consulting. Jerry was a teacher, Gifted and Talented Resource Consultant, and an American Indian Resource Specialist for Colorado’s two largest school districts. He was a board chair for West Denver Prep Charter School which grew into STRIVE Prep Charter Network, 10 of Colorado’s top academic performing schools serving primarily Latino students. He is co-founder of Indigenous Students Leap Ahead! (ISLA) co-planning and co-teaching lessons research-based on American-Indian students’ strengths. Jerry is also on the advisory board for the PATHs Diversifying STEM Initiative, a NASA funded grant.
