This training will focus on helping students who present with skill deficits related to cognitive rigidity and problem-solving that drive non-compliance and oppositional behavior. Participants will learn how to teach and practice replacement behaviors, develop antecedent interventions to reduce oppositionality, and how to leverage reinforcement strategies to improve engagement and following directions.
This is Part 3 of the 4-Part Supporting Students with Non-Compliance Series. The series explores practical, tiered strategies for supporting students who experience non-compliance, avoidance, emotional dysregulation, and difficulty managing challenging situations in general education settings.
