Do you work with any students who are labeled as “difficult”, “challenging”, “unpredictable” or “unmotivated”? Often these students sit in our classrooms struggling with burdens beyond belief. Whether it is a result of trauma, depression, anxiety or other life circumstances, those labeled as the most challenging are full of promise, inner strength and resilience.
By looking at individuals through lens of compassion and employing specific techniques to encourage their growth, we can help our students to become strong people and successful learners.
In this workshop, we will explore a strength-based approach to working with students. We will explore ways to reach out to our students in order to promote self-determination and success. We will enjoy a laugh or two and leave with new strategies to experiment with in our schools.
