Transforming Education for Social Justice Conference

About the Conference

The Transforming Education for Social Justice Conference is a regional conference that brings together people in Western Massachusetts who are interested in social justice and equity in K-12 schools, early childhood classrooms, and the surrounding communities.

Since our last conference, our regional networks of dedicated social justice educators have deepened and expanded across Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties. Regional educators have focused on building relational culture in schools, re-routing the school to prison pipeline, responding effectively to student walk-outs, sit-ins, and demands for change, supporting students to find themselves reflected powerfully in their curricula, creating opportunities for students to build the skills to dialogue about racism, sexism, religious oppression, and so much more.

Youth are central to our conference planning and take many leading roles from developing and leading sessions to playing integral roles on the steering committee. Youth are encouraged to attend and to lead sessions and up to 100 youth particfipants can be admitted free of charge. Donations will help us cover the costs of the conference as well as support student scholarships to attend. Please consider helping us to support this important work!
