The Massachusetts Licensure Academy (MLA) is a program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) and offered through the Collaborative for Educational Services, offering two semester-long, blended learning courses to help you make continuous progress towards your goal. Most of your work will be done online, with four face-to-face meetings in either Northampton or Marlborough. Courses will be offered for 67.5 PDPs at no cost for eligible participants. Three graduate credits are available at the participant's expense. Course participants are expected to commit an average of 8 hours per week to the course, representing between 110 and 120 hours of work across the semester (including time spent in class). Participants may take up to two courses.

Priority for enrollment will be given to Massachusetts educators currently working on a waiver or with a preliminary license as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (preK-8 or 5-12) up to the early registration deadline. After that date, course applications from people who are seeking an Additional license will be reviewed, and accepted in the order they were received until the course is full. Registrants working on a waiver are required to submit proof of eligibility before their registration is confirmed.
