Description

Join preK-12 educators and administrators who are excited about state protections for gender identity and ready to translate their understanding of gender identity into systemic change in their classrooms and schools. We will start with individual and institutional assessments, in order to draft strategic plans, and identify resources for creating and supporting policies, cultures, and practices that ensure inclusion of all students of all gender identities.

Administrators, Teachers, and Specialists; Grades preK - 12

Credits

10 PDPs will be awarded to participants upon completion of this day of training, in addition to outside readings and assignments (as per ESE regulations).

November 8, 2018, 9:00am - 4:00pm at the Collaborative for Educational Services, Northampton.

Cost and Registration

The cost of the workshop is $100 for member districts, and $110 for non-member districts.

    Lani Blechman is a School Librarian at Fort River Elementary School and has over 5 years of preK-12 school library experience in public, private, and charter schools. For more than 13 years, she's worked across the urban/rural divides of Western Massachusetts for racial and gender justice.

Registration

A maximum class size is set for each course and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the number of registrations for a course exceeds the maximum seats available or is too low to be able to conduct a quality learning experience, the Collaborative will inform you of available options.

Course Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your registration, please submit a request in writing (via mail, email or fax) no later than 5 business days before the workshop’s start date. After that, there are no refunds or billing adjustments.

In the event that a course is cancelled by the Collaborative for Educational Services, we will notify you as soon as possible. Please be sure to provide your best email address and phone number so we can contact you.  Although every effort is made to avoid last minute cancellations, if an emergency arises, we will do our best to reach you at the phone number and email address you provide.
