Professional Development

This SEI Career Vocational and Technical Educator (CVTE) Full Course equips participants with strategies to support ELLs' access to content instruction through evidence-based reading, writing and vocabulary interventions in the CVTE environment. The course blends face-to-face and online work through Moodle. Successful completion of this course qualifies participants to apply for the Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) Endorsement.

Participants must have daily access to students in a classroom during the semester the course is taken.

The course schedule accommodates 12 face-to-face sessions, a capstone project presentation, online work between sessions, and three make-up sessions.

Early registration in this course is exclusively available to CVTE teachers assigned by DESE to the Fall 2019 cohort through September 9th. After this date has passed, registration will open to CVTE teachers not assigned to that cohort.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the rigor, pace, and intensity of the course, which leads to an Endorsement from the State for CVTE teachers, you may NOT miss more than two sessions. Missing more than two class sessions will result in a withdrawal grade.

CVTE teachers who are seeking the mandatory SEI Endorsement for their license.

There is no cost to take this course.
