Practical Tools for Supporting Young Children with ASD during COVID-19

This workshop will provide tools and strategies you can begin using tomorrow to promote comfort, safety, and social connection for young children with autism and their peers amidst the new COVID-19 school regulations. Participants will leave with a concrete list of tools, songs, games and books to begin using right away in their classroom settings.

This session addresses Massachusetts Core Competency 1: Understanding the Growth and Development of Children and Youth; Massachusetts Core Competency 6: Observation, Assessment, and Documentation; Massachusetts Core Competency 7: Program Planning and Development.

This 1.5-hour, fully online workshop is offered on Zoom.  If you have not used Zoom before, please review these participant instructions.

  • April 29, 2021; 6:30pm - 8:00pm (Register by April 26)
  • Practice Session: May 6, 2021; 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Practice Sessions are an additional optional session, included in many of our workshops this year at no additional cost. These facilitated sessions will deepen and broaden the learning from the workshop by offering a place for Q&A and to share and reflect on the information learned, attendee experiences related to the topic, resources, and challenges or successes with integrating the new knowledge into your practice.

A maximum class size is set for each course and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the number of registrations for a course exceeds the maximum seats available or is too low to be able to conduct a quality learning experience, CES will inform you of available options.

Course Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your registration, please submit a request in writing (via mail, email or fax) no later than 7 business days before the workshop’s start date. After that, there are no refunds or billing adjustments.

In the event that a course is cancelled by the Collaborative for Educational Services, we will notify you as soon as possible.
