PD in 3D: Using Minecraft in Your Classroom

Professional Development

This workshop will kickstart your explorations in the world of Minecraft! Find out what your students are getting excited about when they talk about “battling mobs”, “crafting”, building their “inventory” and creating “redstone circuits”. Work with partners to build houses, collect livestock and explore this three-dimensional world. In addition to exploring, participants will learn about the use of Minecraft in the classroom - from the logistics of setting up your own world, to supporting your students to use Minecraft as they demonstrate their understanding of increasingly complex concepts. Participants will leave the workshop with insight into the use of creative games in classrooms as well as specific ideas for integrating Minecraft into their classroom lessons.

Audience and Grade Level

Teachers, Grades 3 - 12

To qualify for 10 PDPs, participants must attend the face-to-face workshop, 2 hour webinar, and submit a lesson or unit plan that integrates Minecraft.

Future training dates will be announced here. If you have questions or are interested in offering this training on-site, please contact us.
