Librarian and Media Specialists PLC

This Professional Learning Community is designed to provide a space for Librarian/Media Specialists throughout the region to address and discuss a range of topics that are of vital importance in today's schools. At the first meeting, participants will have the opportunity to weigh in on the following topics and establish a set of priorities for the coming school year:

  • Advocating for strong library programs
  • Working with English Learners
  • Creating a "reading culture" at your school
  • Technology integration
  • AASL Standards for school libraries
  • Social justice and equity
  • Copyright: Students as creators and consumers
  • Student voice and choice in the library
  • Designing library spaces
  • Makerspaces

Once the list of topics/priorities are set, topical experts will be invited when needed, from across CES' programs and beyond.

Participants are encouraged to come to all meetings, if possible. There is no charge for participation.

Certificates of attendance and PDPs are available. Please note: you must register here in order to receive a certificate or PDPs.
