Jamie Lewinski, M. Ed.

Jamie Lynn Lewinski is an Instructional Team Leader, District ELE Coordinator, and ESL teacher for Granby Public Schools. She earned both her undergraduate and M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. In 2013, she was awarded the Harold Grinspoon Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award. Jamie has provided professional development to teachers, administrators, and support staff on topics such as: the WIDA Standards, ESL Model Curriculum Unit building, DESE’s Collaboration Tool, Equity in Education, Culturally Responsive Teaching, State Compliance Procedures, Family Outreach, and the effects of Mindfulness practices on Linguistically Diverse students. She has presented for both the MATSOL/MELLC group and for DESE. Jamie has also collaborated with the Eric Carle Museum, UMASS Amherst and other educators in the Doors to the World – Diverse and Culturally Responsive Literature Project. She runs online book studies for teachers and districts across the state, and is currently building her own website: www.buildingbridgesbreakingbarriers.org
