Getting to Know Your Students as Readers

Summer Academy


Participants will leave the session with an overview of how to use the Benchmark Assessment system for summative assessments and the running record method for formative assessments. They will practice analyzing the results of both assessments to gain insights into their students' reading development and consider the instructional implications of those insights. They will also leave with resources for further study of reading assessment and instruction.

Audience and Grade Level

Teachers, Paraprofessionals. Experience as a classroom teacher preferred, PreK - 5.


Certificate of Attendance, 3 hours.

A maximum class size is set for each course and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the number of registrations for a course exceeds the maximum seats available or is too low to be able to conduct a quality learning experience, CES will inform you of available options.

Course Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your registration, please submit a request in writing (via mail, email or fax) no later than 7 business days before the workshop’s start date. After that, there are no refunds or billing adjustments.
