Engaging Students with Rhythm Games in the Classroom

Summer Academy

Description

In this highly-participatory workshop, educators will learn to engage students by using a variety of rhythm games in the classroom. Strategies for differentiating instruction and using formative assessment will be discussed, and a variety of potential classroom applications will be explored. Participants will learn to use call and response, improvisation, the cups game, and a number of other accessible rhythm games to engage students, promote interpersonal communication, and create an ethos of collaboration in the classroom.

K-12 educators, paraprofessionals, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, and physical education teachers

Credits

Certificate of Attendance 3 hours.
