Endrew v. Douglas County School District

Implications for IEP Teams in MA

In this 30 minute online webinar, we will discuss the recent US Supreme Court decision in the Endrew v. Douglas County School District case.  The primary issue in this case is the provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to students who are educated in substantially separate settings. We will discuss key elements of this decision and review analysis of the ruling by public school and parent advocacy organizations. In addition, a few selected BSEA decisions will be reviewed in order to inform our conversation about compliant and collaborative IEP team practices for IEP teams in Massachusetts.

This webinar will be made available online at the completion of this training. This is the first in a series of reusable resources for Massachusetts IEP team leaders that will be developed by the Professional Development Department at the Collaborative for Educational Services.

The webinar will be conducted using Zoom, and more information and a link with supporting documents to be reviewed before the session will be sent to all registrants.

The webinar is free of charge.
