Description

The Advanced training leads evaluators through the calibration process so that everyone in the district will be able to use the Educator Evaluation System (EES) in the same way. Training consists of three 3-hour sessions. Sessions cover the following topics:

  • Session 1: Collecting and Analyzing Evidence
    Learn EES expectations for teacher evidence and analyzing evidence, and gain agreement on consistent expectations for evidence, an evidence collection system, and procedures for evidence analysis.
  • Session 2: Conducting Classroom Observations
    Learn EES expectations for classroom observations and gain shared understanding of the proficiency descriptors in the teacher performance rubric. Participants will share classroom observations and gain consensus around quality of practice observed.
  • Session 3: Providing Constructive and Meaningful Feedback
    Learn EES expectations for providing feedback to teachers, and develop a consistent set of procedures for providing feedback.

This training is offered for teams of four evaluators.

Audience and Grade Level

Principals/others responsible for observation/evaluation, Grades K-12.
