Substitute Teacher - DYS Southeast Region

The Collaborative for Educational Services has openings for per diem Substitute Teachers in Southeastern Massachusetts.  Educators will be placed on our call list to work with at-risk adolescents in secure residential treatment settings run by the Department of Youth Services (DYS).  This is an opportunity to empower a population of young people who’ve had many challenges in their short lives. We hope that you will join us in this work!

This is you:

  • A passionate educator, interested in working with youth who have been placed at risk. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  •  An innovative teacher, committed to positive youth development and culturally responsive educational practices

This is us: Dedicated, supportive and collaborative teams of educators who put Social Justice and Equity work at the center of their mission.  We understand that all forms of oppression are damaging. Creating a community of care is foundational to the work we do, together!

We value: Quality and excellence, innovation, creativity and vision, inclusiveness, equity and diversity and collaboration with others.

Highlights of What You Will Do:

  • Equip vulnerable young people with the tools they need to see their world, and themselves, in a new light.

  • Teach small classes - personalized to student needs which focus on academic and behavioral success.
