School-to-Career Initiative

This initiative is an effort to improve the education and career preparation of young people by incorporating real life and work experiences into their schooling. Built on a community partnership, the School-to-Career Initiative provides a foundation for students to understand and appreciate the direct real world applications that academic subjects have in the workplace. Strategies include job shadowing, mentorships, career awareness curriculum, workplace visits for teachers, individual education/career plans and portfolios for students, supervised internships monitored by the Work-Based Learning Plan.
