Work Together

Work Together Partners

As committed members of our community, our Work Together partners play a crucial role in helping young people with disabilities gain useful skills they will use throughout their lives. Each employer who partners with us, whether large corporations or businesses owned and operated by a single person, shares an interest in helping young people gain critical skills so they can be productive members of their community.

These businesses and organizations in Hampshire and Franklin Counties partner with the Collaborative for Educational Serivces to provide volunteer intern experiences for students with special needs. These real-world experiences for students aged 11-21 expand and deepen the skills students learn at school.

Some of our students can work fairly independently when given minor support from Collaborative staff members; others have more significant challenges and require higher levels of support from our staff members, who work alongside them at the job site.

After determining your organization is a good match for our program, we select a small group of students who we believe will succeed as volunteer interns in your workplace.

We are looking for partners who can provide:

  • A supportive and positive workplace atmosphere
  • A few hours of work each week for the volunteer interns
  • A liaison to the CES staff members who supervise students on-site

CES provides full insurance coverage and appropriate levels of supervision for all volunteer interns.
