Welcome Baby Visits

Welcome Baby Visits

The first days and weeks at home with a new baby are among the most joyful and exciting you'll experience as a parent. They can also be overwhelming. Welcome Baby home visits are a comfortable and comforting way for parents to connect with an early childhood expert, ask questions, and get information that you can use with your new baby and his or her siblings right away, and in the months and years to come.

Shortly after he or she is born, you can schedule a one-hour visit from a member of the Collaborative's Early Childhood Support Team. Our visiting team member will deliver a Welcome Baby bag that includes:

  • Gifts for you and your baby
  • Informational materials about baby growth and development and issues new parents face, community resources such as family centers, WIC, breastfeeding support, and services provided by the Collaborative

Our team member can help to answer your questions about how your baby is growing and adjusting, what to expect in the coming weeks and months, and address concerns you might have about your baby's health and well-being as well as your own.

Welcome Baby is a free home visitation program for all new babies and their families in the following communities:

  • Amherst
  • Belchertown
  • Chesterfield
  • Easthampton
  • Goshen
