Partnering with the Department of Youth Services

We believe that the emotional and social development needs of children and youth must be addressed if they are to succeed in school, and consequently, in life. -- CES Values

Students’ experiences and their sense of identity shape their views of the world and where they see themselves in it.

Since 2003, the Collaborative for Educational Services has been a partner to the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services (DYS) in creating access to high-quality education and employment opportunities for youth in the care and custody of DYS. The Collaborative is helping to equip an especially vulnerable population of young people with the tools they need see their world, and themselves, in a new light.

Through cutting-edge and culturally responsive instruction, which builds on student strengths, a population of young people who have a long history of need, neglect, trauma, and challenges are empowered to see their own potential and possibilities and give them the foundation to live the lives they envision for themselves.
